“More and more companies are introducing Analytics in their core business processes. The industry now witnesses a serious dearth in skilled professionals in Business Analytics. Understanding the situation, we have undertaken an initiative to address the gap,” says, Dr. R. Raghu Raman, Chairman, ASB Coimbatore.
Understanding the scope for Business Analytics in the industry, Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore (ASB Coimbatore) has started offering the subject as a major specialization for its MBA students. The b-school has initiated many industry alliances, including an association with IBM to provide students the necessary industry skill set. As a part of it, IBM recently established Amrita-IBM Business Analytics Lab in the campus.
The b-school has begun accepting admission applications from the students for the year 2016-2018. The minimum qualification to apply for its MBA program is 50 percent score in Bachelor’s degree examination (10 + 2 + 3 years of education) in any discipline. Those appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree examination in 2016 can also apply.
The aspirants are expected to have appeared in any of these entrance tests -- CAT, GMAT, GRE and XAT for admission. The deadline to apply for the course is February 28, 2016.
Online application process
Aspirants seeking admission must complete and submit the application form online at www.amrita.edu/ asbc. Alongside, an application fee of Rs. 1000/- should also be deposited. The fee can be paid through credit card, net banking or DD drawn in favor of “Amrita School of Business” payable at Coimbatore.
Selection criteria
Apart from considering the high overall scores, the candidates will be tested via interview. A personal interview will be held on 12th and 13th March 2016. The candidates will be assessed for their communication skills, passion, reading habits and extracurricular activities.
